IKumInPeace [IKIP] - SERVER RULES

As the MOTD doesn't adequately explain the server rules, let me post them here so Players won't get confused:

1. No EXCESSIVE Profanity (occasional swearing is ok as this is a PG-13 game);
2. DO NOT shoot in your spawn (unless of course you're shooting at an enemy);
3. RACISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED;
4. DO NOT nade other team's Spawn;
5. DO NOT go off the map (you must be able to be seen at all times);
6. DO NOT go onto the roofs ALL the time (some roofing is allowed but don't play whole game up there);
7. Spek is for Admin's ONLY;
8. Make teams even with HUMANS, bots don't kount!;
9. You must have a name when playing, Symbols, numbers & "Player" are NOT OK;
10. DO NOT Spawn Kill or mole TOO much,
11. When moleing, MG's are not allowed (this will ruin the game for other players);
12. NO recruiting or Advertising in any manner, including using your name to do so;
13. RESPEKT ALL Players/Admins! NO TAUNTING!;
14. DO NOT go into the other spawn unless using mole (no jumping or teleporting there);
15. Please be kourteous capturing flags and DON'T kut off others;
16. NO flag kapping!; and,
17. HAVE FUN!

Here's my two cents, a list of suggested rules that aren't included:

Serpant Wands should not be placed over objective items. Charlie is unplayable because of serpant wands being placed over the radio, for instance.
No teleporting past divides (For instance, DoD Red is not supposed to have swarming opposition players on the other side of the map)
No using weapons that aren't meant for the level (for instance, no guns in meatgrinder, nothing but rifles in rifle)

All these things lead to a really unbalanced game...

Also I was threatened, along with another player of being kicked for camping in mario_land because we were moving from corner to corner. The other player got slapped. Could a clarification on the rules regarding camping be done ("Camping is legal" "Camping is dissuaded, but legal" "Camping on occasion is fine, but too much is not")? Cause I thought camping was legal if not in spawn, and furthermore, I don't think shifting from spot to spot is camping...though it can be annoying.

Also members are starting to complain about any cursing and saying its banned on this server-if I'm reading the rules correctly, you shouldn't be shouted at for using a curse, as long as its not that common...I mean, this isn't Spy, thank god.

Also, the word gay is being tossed a lot and the admins I've noticed don't seem to notice/care. Shouldn't anything homosexual be treated the same as anything racist? Its not like they're less insulting to some people...In the past a bot made a comment about Puerto Ricans stealing something, but that hasn't reappeared and I only saw it one night, so I'm guessing it was a glitch, or maybe a player after all...but the bots do make homophobic comments on occasion...

I've commented on most of your concerns before and I'll repost parts here.

We DO NOT monitor every little thing that players do wrong in game. We afford all players a GREAT deal of discretion when administering the server. It would be a nightmare to try and stop every single instance of rule violations. However, having said that, if it's the same players involved time and time again, that's different, report them for ban request with chat log copies, steam id copies, demo tape, etc. If we determine this independently ourselves, WE WILL take appropriate action. We obviously cannot monitor everything 24/7 so players like yourself have to help us out on this one.

The mod is the mod, it allows you to do things you might not ordinarily do so see comments above.

Camping, although frowned upon by me personally as you're not helping your teamates achieve victory, it IS NOT prohibited and I understand that some players do this (see comment in parens below.) Admins should not take action on that other than perhaps commenting to the player to be more involved in their teams success (Remember, when we all first started playing this type of game we probably used the mg's and sniper weapons and did a lot of camping ourselves to get accustomed to the game and how it works.)

If your problem is with an [IKIP] member or Admin, kindly send me a PM and I'll handle it discreetly. If it's simply another player, obtain the proof, as discussed above, and post it in the appropriate forum. THIS GOES FOR ALL PLAYERS, [IKIP] MEMBERS AND ADMINS ALIKE!

Excessive swearing is not allowed and what's excessive to me, might not be to another Admin. Respect the wishes of the Admins on the server at the time you're playing and attempt to clarify the rule here, as you're doing, so every player and member can understand them better.

I've researched the Bot Chats, the only comment close to what you're referring to as "homophobic" is one that says "I saw you and my Gaydar went off the scales, so you had me by your Gayness!" I'm not quite sure if this is the one you're referring to as homophobic but I personally don't believe it to be but if you all feel otherwise, let me know and I'll simply remove it. It is not directed by the Bot in-game at any player specifically as some Bot Chats are.

I recall we may have already had a personal discussion about the Puerto Rican comment so I'm not quite sure what you mean as there NEVER was any bot chat referencing that. It would have had to have been a player.

We DO NOT allow any Rascist comments and yes, that also relates to anti-gay remarks.
